Kitten Heels & Capris: The Paris Edit
A 96-hour style diary through Paris, exploring the effortless elegance of Parisian dressing.
Parisian fashion continues to be the blueprint for chic and understated dressing. Its global appeal lies in its simplicity: styling timeless, practical basics with low-effort makeup, as if you’ve just rolled out of bed looking this put together (when, in reality, it took 30 minutes).
On a recent four-day trip to Paris, I set out to capture that very je ne sais quoi. Doing so called for a disciplined suitcase – one built on intentional, elegant dressing that, crucially, remained true to my own style.
Outlined below are five looks that will have you covered from morning coffees to late nights by the Seine. This is my Parisian lookbook.
01 / THE DAYTIME UNIFORMS
Look 1: Eiffel Tower Picnic
When curating my Parisian wardrobe, black and white was the first colour pairing that came to mind. Luckily, I stumbled across this gorgeous two-toned maxi dress and knew it was made for an afternoon picnic by the Eiffel Tower. Between its beautiful waist detailing and fluid silhouette, I kept the accessories minimal: black ballet flats, a sleek handbag, and a touch of gold at the neckline. Et voilà: the perfect outfit for lounging on the Champ de Mars.

Look 2: Hot Chocolate & City Shopping
For the Parisian woman, less is more. So, for an afternoon spent between hot chocolate at Carette and a little retail therapy, I wanted something low-effort that still felt chic. Slim black capris and a Breton stripe anchored the outfit, styled with black ballet flats, a structured brown bag, and gold pendant. My burgundy sunnies added just enough contrast, and the whole look felt understated, classic, and authentically French.

Look 2: Le Louvre & Avenue de Camoëns
Nothing says timeless quite like a polka dot print, and this midi dress was just ideal for a day spent between the Louvre and Avenue de Camoëns. With its cami bodice and full-bodied skirt, it brought just the right touch of vintage romance to a crisp September afternoon, feeling perfectly framed against the glass pyramid and falling autumn leaves. I styled it with black flats, a brown handbag and sunglasses, and let the dress do the rest of the talking.

02 / AFTER DARK
Look 4: The Statement Silhouette
In Paris, nothing is ever truly over the top. It’s a city that encourages you to be bold and authentically yourself, making it the place to wear that piece you’ve been saving. For me, it was this statement red maxi dress from Oh Polly. I wanted to channel that full hollywood glam – think Cameron Diaz in ‘The Mask’ – and I can safely say, mission accomplished.
I paired the dress with black kitten heels, a matching handbag, and delicate pearl jewellery. It was the perfect ensemble for dinner and wine at Gigi’s, followed by a late river cruise along the Seine (if slightly impractical for the latter). When in Paris, no?

Look 5: Sharp & Sculptural
French fashion is all about masterclass staples, so for my final evening look, I kept things classic with a black mini dress I already had in my wardrobe. The pièce de résistance was a cropped trench coat I bought earlier that day: the cinched, structured cut made the silhouette look incredible against the Eiffel Tower (hello, Vogue). Styled with black kitten heels and a black bag, it felt simple, polished, and so very chic.
