Summer Fashion Trends 2026

90s midis, the capri revival, and classic prints: discover the summer uniform of 2026.

Consider the winter layers officially banished. Summer has arrived, and with it, a fresh wave of style inspo that’s made me completely rethink my wardrobe. Heavy knits have been exiled to the back of the closet, and in their place, an array of midi skirts, maxi dresses, and a highly strategic rotation of sunglasses. Oh, and a lot of polka dots.

If you're anything like me, curating your look for the warmer months is an annual ritual, and there are so many timeless silhouettes making a comeback this year. Here are some of the pieces I can’t wait to bring into rotation.

Midi skirts

Midi skirts might just be my new hyperfixation. While I’ve been no stranger to a midi skirt over the years, I’ve decidedly graduated from the bodycon styles of the past. Right now, it’s all about the '90s minimalist aesthetic: fluid hanky hems, asymmetric lines, and vintage prints.

There is something so gorgeous about that ‘awkward’ mid-calf length, especially when paired with some cute heels or a structured knee-high boot. Add a simple top, layered accessories, and slouchy shoulder bag, and you are just about ready to step into a ‘90s romcom. Hello, Rachel Green.

Capris

Love them or hate them, there is no denying it: capri pants are back. Even I was skeptical at first – there’s always the risk of looking like a 2000s Disney Channel star at a red carpet premiere. But, fear not, as it all comes down to the styling. In this case, less is more.

A great heel grounds the cropped silhouette, offering the exact lift needed to cheat the eye and elongate the leg. Bella Hadid is the perfect style blueprint here; she effortlessly pairs her capris with a minimalist top, sharp sunnies, and a pair of sleek mule heels. Suddenly, the look goes from early-noughties nostalgia to Audrey Hepburn chic.

Polka dots

Keeping in line with that vintage revival, we have the undisputed print of the summer: polka dots. They’re everywhere right now (a trend heavily spearheaded by the iconic Olivia Dean), and I, for one, have jumped heavily on the bandwagon – tops, skirts, dresses, you name it, polka dots have completely taken over my wardrobe.

The beauty of the print is its ageless aesthetic: it carries a gorgeous retro vibe that somehow makes any outfit feel instantly elevated. The styling trick here is all about contrast: pair a fluid polka-dot skirt with an ultra-minimalist tank and chic accessories, and the print does the rest of the work for you.

There is a distinct joy in the annual ritual of curating a summer wardrobe, especially when the pieces feel this timeless. By swapping out predictable styling for modern contrast, trends like the midi skirt, capri pants, and polka dots feel entirely relevant again.

With these elevated essentials locked in, consider my seasonal rotation officially set for Summer 2026.
