Styling the Eras: A Taylor Swift Lookbook
Sequins, butterflies, and cowboy denim: find out how I’ve styled three eras of Taylor Swift.
One thing about me is I love a theme. Cowboys? The boots are on. ABBA? Flares are at the ready. Taylor Swift? Oh, this is my forte.
Taylor has been a steady soundtrack throughout my life, with each album on repeat as I grew up. Over the years, I’ve since found myself at more than a few Taylor-themed nights (i.e. Swiftogeddon) and I was fortunate enough to see the Eras Tour twice. Naturally, this has seen me in a variety of outfits adorned with sequins, a few butterflies, and lots of denim.
This lookbook is a journey through three eras of Taylor Swift that have inspired my outfits over the years: Fearless, Reputation, and Debut.
Fearless
Though I can’t physically choose a favourite Taylor Swift album, I can say that Fearless is definitely one of my most played. It was one of the first CD’s I had from her, and 13-year old me would happily play the album over and over. Even now, it’s an album that feels incredibly nostalgic.
In 2024, I went to a Swiftogeddon night in Manchester, which is still my favourite one I’ve attended. It was right in the midst of the Eras Tour hype, and you could just tell by the sold out tickets and the buzz in the room that everyone was having the best time ever.
Here, I wore my one and only Fearless-inspired outfit, rocking gold sequin flares, a white tee, heels, and, of course, a cowboy hat. I loved this outfit – it’s not usually something I would wear, but I got so many compliments and felt 10/10. If you go for a Fearless look, I highly recommend gold sequins (and lots of them).

Reputation
Reputation will forever be a go-to era for me. Sometimes, blasting the album is all I need for a full factory reset (End Game always hates to see me coming). It’s also just super fun to mix up the styles, put the cowboy boots to one side, and embrace a darker, grungier look.
My take on the Reputation era was a gorgeous black two-piece, with sheer sleeves, sequin details, and a subtle swirling pattern running throughout the fabric. The pattern was almost snake-like, so I leaned into the look with snake accessories, black knee-high boots, and a pair of sheer tights. When I wore it to the Eras Tour in Liverpool, I added a black blazer over the top, which pulled the whole outfit together perfectly. I felt unstoppable.

Debut
Debut quickly became my favourite era to dress for. It’s the perfect era to choose if you want to subtly add a pop a Taylor without going too far into costume territory. We’re talking denim, cowboy boots, and a little flutter of butterfly wings.
My Debut outfits have mostly stuck to a white and denim palette, with some cute accessories woven in. For the Eras Tour at Wembley, I wore a white mini dress, embellished with butterfly clips, a gold butterfly chain belt, and finished with a pair of pink cowboy boots. It was comfortable, cute, and the perfect outfit for such an incredible night.
More recently, I revisited the butterfly belt for Swiftogeddon, styling it with a pair of bootcut jeans and a white corset, then again with a denim mini dress and knee-high boots. Both looks felt very Y2K – which, as always, is such a vibe.

Nothing quite captures the feeling of girlhood like dressing for the eras. It’s the joy of translating the music into something personal and entirely your own – and getting to share that experience with so many others.
Whether you’re headed to Swiftogeddon, a themed birthday party, or just feel like channeling your inner Taylor, I hope this lookbook inspires anyone looking to bring an era to life.
